Sons Grave

2008

Late night conversations. Automobile soundsystems. Bright lights.
Backroads and under bridges. Bass Worshipers beget Angelic Saviors.

All elements are combined, nothing is purist. You have been represented. Feel Loved.

Review.

Although Matthew Willox will forever & always write & produce music, even from beyond the 'sons grave', this eerily sounds as if it may very well be winnie the shit's sonic epitaph.

interesting track choices to put together as an EP.  not so much a soundtrack as stand-alone compositions; less manic foraging than previous releases, though that holds it's own irony.

fans of 'hand driven episode' and 'easy' will wonder how can there possibly be more pathos in his work?  well, there can be, and here it is.

the use of vocal treatments on the first tracks is deliciously symbolic for a sensuous nite out; words make way to rhythms, orchestrations lead to confluences, a pinnacle, then a most well-executed détente in 'risen'.

this is what songs can sound like when one is left to work them out.

'robot master' has that beatific technique; love the mixing.
are there such things as streetlight echoes?  listen to 'packets' and you tell me.
'dark pattern' sure makes you want to get to that outer space rendez-vous.

oui, une technique béatifique.
